Kyla Savick graduated with baccalaureate honors in Biology from the University of North Florida in 2007. In 2012, she graduated with a D.V.M. from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Savick returned home to pursue small animal private practice (cats & dogs exclusively). After a short term at a day practice and then a 24/7 ER, she ultimately realized that she enjoyed the diversity and flexibility of relief work, which she has been doing since 2015. Her passions include client education, mental health awareness, veterinary forensics & behavior, and of course evidence-based medicine! She also volunteers most years at Jax Zoo's annual Spooktacular event. Her second career is as a personal assistant to her cats, noting that she is not a crazy cat lady, just a lady with crazy cats! Kyla joined the EBVMA in 2024 to enhance her critical appraisal skills and incorporate evidence-based veterinary medicine into daily practice. As Treasurer, she is excited to help the organization grow & fulfill its mission!
