Erica Tramuta-Drobnis, VMD MPH CPH
Erica Tramuta-Drobnis, VMD, MPH, CPH, is a veterinarian, researcher, writer, and public health professional. She received her VMD in 2005 from the University of Pennsylvania and her MPH in 2019 from the University of Florida. She became Certified in Public Health in 2020. She is an experienced emergency and general practice veterinarian with over 20 years of experience working with small animals and exotics. She has over 29 years of expertise in disaster preparedness and response, as well as over 5 years of experience in public health and One Health. She began freelance writing, consulting, and researching, and formed her own company, ELTD One Health Consulting, LLC, in September 2020. She is a past president, board member, and current acting treasurer of the Delaware Valley Academy of Veterinary Medicine (DVAVM), as well as a private/corporate board member of the American Association of Food Safety and Public Health Veterinarians (AAFSPHV). She hopes to sit for the board exam in 2026 to become a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine (DACVPM). She is the sole veterinarian for the Lehigh County Animal Response Team (LVCART). With her writing, Dr. Tramuta-Drobnis focuses on a One Health perspective. She focuses on evidence-based practices in her writing and clinical practice, with a particular passion for antimicrobial stewardship and educating others on current guidelines, evidence, and best practices to minimize the veterinary contribution to antimicrobial resistance development. She came upon the EBVMA somewhat by accident, seeking resources for access to veterinary research that was previously closed to her as an individual not affiliated with a university. She has been an active participant and an avid writer for both the EBVMA column and her LLC, Veterinary Practice News and VPN+, and is the current EBVMA President-Elect (2025-2027). She currently resides outside of Allentown, PA, with her husband (an internist for the 2-legged animals of the world) and pure-bred mutt, Jazzy (Jasmine). Dr. Tramuta-Drobnis enjoys practicing Tai Chi, currently a second-level black sash, and resides outside of Allentown, PA, with her husband (an internist for the 2-legged animals of the world) and pure-bred mutt, Jazzy (Jasmine).
